Volleyball Court Dimensions and Net Height (Indoor and Beach)

Official volleyball court dimensions: 18 × 9 m (59 × 29.5 ft), the attack line, free zone, net height for men and women, antennas, ceiling height and beach court size.

Whether you're marking out a gym, building a backyard court or settling an argument, here are the official volleyball court dimensions from the FIVB rulebook, with imperial conversions for US readers.

All lines are 5 cm (2 in) wide and count as part of the area they enclose, so a ball on the line is in.

Men (and coed in many leagues)2.43 m (7 ft 11⅝ in)
Women2.24 m (7 ft 4⅛ in)
Youth (varies by age group)often 2.00–2.24 m

The net is 1 m (3 ft 3 in) deep and 9.5–10 m long. Two flexible antennas sit directly above the sidelines and stick out 80 cm above the net. A ball that touches an antenna or crosses outside it is out.

Posts

Net posts stand 0.5–1 m outside the sidelines and must be rounded and padded, without guy wires that could injure players.
